description doesn't show in status bar

In access 2007 I've added a description to a field in design view.

I thought this was supposed to display in the status bar when that field was selected in datasheet view but it doesn't.

Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

That works in Access 2013 for this simple database that I attached. Would you look at the attached database and see if they are showing up on your system.

yes, those are showing in the bar

Ok could you upload your database. I like to see if I could figure out what's different about your tables.
