Hello

I have one database which has all forms have which does not have design view option at all rest I can see design view option,

I checked all the option shift key + option ( current datbaes). and every setting.. still does not have a design view option

even improting and exporting has been greyed out for the forms, please assist how to make this work...

The other possibility is that you can tell File >> Options >> Current Database some things that you don't want done, and I know for a fact that Layout view is controlled from there. I don't recall whether Design view is also blockable from the database options, but it is worth a look, I think. If not an .MDE or .ACCDE, that options page is the second place I would look.

an .xDB file normally allows design view. Try the File tab, Options from the list, and then Current Database from the dialog box. See if something is checked (or probably unchecked) regarding design view.

Hi

Everything has been checked and nothing abnormal then even though I can not see design view for forms.

The symtoms you describe indicate it is a mde or accde file. Possibly someone has changed the file extension from .accde to .accdb

Open the file and go to the Database tools tab, Select Database Documenter.

Then select the current database tab, tick properties and the OK.

A list of properties will be there. Look for one called MDE (same for mde/accde) and check its value. If it is T then it is a .accde or .mde file, so someone has changed the name. If it is not there or has a different value, it is not a mde/accde

Yes it is MDE=T there, but now what shall I do to make design view enabled ?

You can't, it is a mde/accde so forms cannot be edited.

You need to find the original master file that created the db in the first place.

Alternatively there are websites out there that claim to decode mde/accde back into editable form, although if you read the smallprint I think you will find the resultant editable file has limited capabilities for editing. They will also charge and require some proof of ownership.
