Does anyone have a sample development contract subject to UK legislation. I need one for a project that is quoted at £4,500 stg and as this is my first biggie I want to keep myself covered.

whilst I know you may suggest I go to a solicitor I can't really afford to. some of you may say that I can't afford not to but hopefully after a couple of biggies like this it will be possible.

Thanks

Dont think so but thanks for your help.

Try something like your local chamber of commerce and ask for advice if you have no luck finding something online.

Try to break the project into small deliverables which need paying for before you start on the next bit etc etc, make sure when delivered the customer signs something which says they have received it and that its payable etc. Make sure ownership is yours till everythings payed in full - and make sure you have a way of disabling anything you deleiver should you not get paid without needing access to it (an automatic time bomb to disable your project)

I personally don't think a lawyer drawing up a contact is the way to go - expensive - and more expense to chase it afterwards, best to avoid getting anywhere near a lawyer - who inevitably will be the only one to profit.

Good luck.
