Dialog ain't talking

Hello

I am trying to a get a form into dialog mode.

I have set the border style to dialog and modal to yes removed all of the record navigators, scrolls, min max etc but when i open the form it's maximised, an acre of form and my controls in the top left corner.

I've set the form in design view to 5 by 7 cm!

an ideas?

Hey Chris,

if the previous form is maximized, then it too will be maximized. What I do is, in your form_load, put "DoCmd.Restore". And yes you can maximize forms in this same way.

Without using VBA, you need to set popup = yes, modal = yes and border = dialog. I suspect if it is opening maximised, something else is also maximised in the Db. To avoid this, on the open event of the form, use

docmd.restore

to restore the form down to the designed size.

Tried that and it still remained huge so i've used the movesize method and that seems to work.
