Why do the buttons and other features on my computer look nicely rounded en very proffesional but when I pachage the application and install it on an other pc the buttons look gray and very oldschool (not wel rounded, etc).

Both of the pc's run on windows XP.

Does anybody have an idea?

Different Version of Access?

Does your Access have some sort of manifest file with it to provide the XP style? Mind you, some of your controls wouldn't look right if you did like option buttons and CheckBoxes (especially in the Frame Control).

Upgrade, upgrade, upgrade....

.

Check out

Tools - Options-Forms/Reports

Is Use Windows Themed Controls on Forms selected on both?

Thanks for the quick reply.

I am developing in access 2007. when my app is finisched I deploy it with de developer extensions.

On the pc where I install the package the buttons look old and gray and very square.

Om my pc they look very rounded and nicely colored.

I have the exact same thing and have often wondered, since they are identical versions of Access.

I believe I have narrowed it down to having .NET Framework installed. If .NET is installed, it uses the nicer looking buttons, etc. Otherwise it uses the older looking ones.

I am gonna try it the first thing on monday.

Thanks bro...

Install the .NET Framework, and then try to create a new database on that system. And see if the buttons start looking nicer from a freshly created one.

I cant create anything.

I have made a package with the access 2007 developer extensions.
So the user doesnt have access 2007 installed.
He only has the access 2007 runtime and the .net framework 2.0 installed.

I hope this info clarifies the situation.

Unfortunately I have no other suggestions to solve this problem, sorry. If you have another machine without .NET installed that you can test this Database from, and if it looks bad, then install .NET on that machine and try to create a new access DB, that might help narrow it down.
