Different Colours

I have created several continuous forms in an Access 97 database and have no problem grouping the data (easy). Is it possible to display the grouped data in, say, different background or foreground colours?? I suspect I can do this by creating sub-forms but that is rather cumbersome - can I do it on the same form? I am also having the same problem with reports - the "On-Format" option seems a little limited - I would really like to group my results by colour (again, could use a sub-report I suppose)

I haven't gone and tried this so forgive me if it is brainless...but...

Couldn't you create a rectangle, with a normal background...and then set the color through vb conditional to the data? If you put the controls on top of it...that should work...just format the box and SEND TO BACK...

Just a thought...
