Display A field from a seperate table in a form to use as reference

In my form (source tblJobs) i input a contract number from tblContracts. but i would also like it to show the contract address when the contract number is entered. Both fields belong to tblContracts but i only wish to enter the contract number, the address will just be used as a reference as it isnt something i would have to enter again.


So for example

112 - Main Road

If i enter 122 in my ContractNo field i would like it to show the contract address for that specific contract.

Can i do this? If So how?

there are a couple of ways you can do this... I tend to use a combo box to 'look up' the contract and then show the related info in an unbound text box alongside...

So, as an eg:
Set up a combo box based on tblContracts, making sure you include in it the info you want to show alongside. I'm assuming you'll include ContractNo and ContractAddress (or whatever your fields are called!) Once you've done that, name the combo box... cboContracts maybe
Then, add another textbox alongside, with cboContracts.column(1) as its ControlSource
(The column numbers start at 0, so just use whatever column number you need!)

Thanks very much. I have a combobox for the ContractNo set up already so i will edit that to show the address. Text box explanation will help in the future to now i know i can use this function to show data that should be DISPLAY-ONLY rather that input and display.

Could someone help as to how i would go about changing my existing look up column. Im hitting a brick wall, had a look online but cant seem to get any where without deleting the existing one and re-doing it with the additional field.

Can you not just go into the properties of the combobox, and use the build button on the rowsource?

Im really bad with the expression builder. The wizard is my friend and its the only time things usually work. But opening the wizard for an existing look up is proving impossible. Ive made a quick fix for now but it isnt ideal to be honest.
