Hi,

I tried to post this in the ASP forum but got no replies so i'll try here.

Database: MS Access 2000 (English)
ISP hosting: Envisage Windows site hosted on a full IIS
Virtual Server running on an Windows Server 2003

Objective:
Screendumps provided in word doc
I want to be able to retrieve and display Chinese characters from my browser. Chinese characters are contained in MS Access Database. I've written test.asp to display first book title but it appears as "????" in my browser. I've tried changing all the fonts to Arial Unicoce MS - which is a UNICODE but to no avail.

Does anyone know how i can get it to work??? Million thanks.

Question: Are the Chinese characters generated by a TrueText Font File? If so, you can change the font characteristics of the text box to that font name.

Otherwise, you are probably looking at an OLE problem.

Follow up question to Doc Man

Thanks a million Doc_Man - someone finally has a reply, i'm not alone. There are a few questions that want to you elaborate on you answer (stated below for your reference).

Question: Are the Chinese characters generated by a TrueText Font File? Can you elaborate a bit more? If so, you can change the font characteristics of the text box to that font name. What text box are you referring to?I'm assuming you are referring to the text box on the Access form that captured information into the Access table

Otherwise, you are probably looking at an OLE problem.

Problem Update

Hi,

I've change the font in the Access table to a true
type font (PMingLiu) but to no avail. If i change content to English, it
is displayed properly in test.asp, input Chinese and test.asp displays
"????". I'm totally stuck!!

I've also tried using UNICODE font in Access table but still same
result.

Someone please please please help me. Thanks

John M,

Did you ever find a solution for this?

Am curious, what is this to be used for?
