...or something like that. I am dealing with this compound problem and banging my head against the wall...any help would be greatly appreciated.

First of all...I have a form (CONTACTS) with ContactID and all other pertinent contact info (address, phone, etc.). I have another form (PARTICIPANTS), the data for which are a subset of the data from the CONTACTS table (therefore, I'm using a query of CONTACTS and another EDU INFO table to get all the fields I need for the PARTICIPANTS form).

What I WANT to do is
1) enter an individual in the CONTACTS form
2)upon selecting "Yes" for a specific category on the contacts form (ie. PARTICIPANT) the PARTICIPANTS form would open and pertinent contact info, including ID would be pasted into PARTICIPANTS form from the CONTACTS FORM
3)run some code/macro that searches for (preferably automatically) the ID field in the PARTICIPANTS table (i.e. thus they are in the table already). If found, form would go to existing record, if not found, form would create new record, pasting in contact info. for the new person.

I've figured out how to open the PARTICIPANTS form, and even paste the ID field and contact info into a new record (though I haven't found an ideal way to get anything but the ID field displayed, short of running code to close, save and re-open the form) (ANY HELP ON THIS WOULD BE GREAT, TOO), but I'm clueless as to how to deal with people that might already be in the PARTICIPANTS table.

Thanks in advance!!!
