displaying a filtered value with count()

hi i have this textbox im using to display the total number of items (filtered) in my form, as of right now im using =count(tbl.tblitem) in the control source to display the value, but i can't figure out how to make it display the filtered value ... if anyone could help a function, method something, thanks.
