Displaying and using Variables in My Report/Query

In Access 97: My Query/Report asks me to [enter the date] so I can filter my report. Can I use this entered date in other formula's and can I display this date in my Report Title? ie. "Status Report as of: [Date]". I would also like to use this entered date as part of the criteria for other fields in my query/report.
 
You can do all them. The easiest way that I know would be to create a form with a text box to hold the "Entered Date" and use this for criteria and formulas. You could hide the text box to make the form more appealing and add code that runs the report upon opening the form. You can also use this for titles but it's simplier just to use the fieldname of the date that was entered for this.

There may be a simpler way but I've used this many times with success.
