I was approached by my city's Economic Development Department to build them a database to track the help they provide businesses.

Has anyone heard of an already existing application that does that? It doesn't have to be Access.

Something similar probably does exist somewhere. But probably not by that same "title" you could search for database examples. On this forum there is a whole section of examples. one might give you a good start.

Sounds to me like you are looking for a customer Managment solution
Search for CRM

Actually, I guess (doing a Google Search) you're more likely going to find a Content Management System if you look for CMS.

CRM actually stands for Customer Relationship Management so that would be the more likely thing to look for. So, NEVER MIND :D .

Well, in different contexts it can mean something completely different. But I was basically using your own words:

LOL
I was so right with "(sure am showing my stupidity)" !!!!

A word of warning here - This type of system always looks very simple when a client askes for it however it is a beast that if not scoped correctly will kill any programmer. This is one of those db's/systems that requires a 100 point checklist before you even start building or looking for the solution.

I've googled around and haven't found much. But Google doesn't index people's brains, yet, so I thought I'd ask.

I'm not looking for a CRM (though that is an aspect of the app), or really samples of databases. I'm looking for something specifically geared towards Economic Development. If it exists and looks good, then I don't have to build it.
