I have an excel sheet I would like to use as the background for my access report. I cannot get the sheet to look like it does in excel. It is currently 1 page landscaped and when I drop it into access it becomes large and carries over to 4-5 pages.

I don't want to create this report from scratch in access it would be very time consuming. Can someone advise. I an new to access but can learn quickly.

I'm not sure what you mean by "drop in"- Did you explicitly copy a specified region of Excel spreadsheet and paste in Access or did you just select all of the worksheet?

If that is the latter, what I did with my Word file that couldn't be imported (too many embedded graphics and custom formatting) was to create a snapshot (saved as a JPG) then import it to Access as a OLE object.

By "drop in" I did mean paste. I am trying to get the entire sheet not just the one section. How do create a snapshot?

Ah, if you tried to paste the entire sheet, of course you would get several pages wide. Access does not recongize the boundary.

You have to explicitly select where your section start and ends then copy from this selection, not the entire sheet.

Try that first.

Still too large to fit to one page. I think we are close though. How do I do that snap shot?

Ok-

First, you get your Excel set up to fit on page you want, then select printer "Mircosoft Document Imaging" then print it. This create a file instead of actually printing. Open it, then select all, copy it then paste it into Access. It'll be an OLE Object.

Real close now. I finally see the entire image but now I cannot resize it to get it on 1 page. It seems to crop the image instead of resizing keeping scale in tack.

For that, you'll want to format the picture in other application (let's say Word).

Got it! Had to change the properties in Access under "size mode" to "Stretch" and not "Crop" This allows you to set it to 8.5 by 11.

You da man! Thanks for all your help!
