does anyone have any links where I can learn how to use DOS and make batch files?

a beginners guide would be cool.
and maybe a link to some cool pre-made batch files that I can learn off of.

Ah, batch files. You've made me come over all misty eyed...

First place to start is to get hold of a DOS manual. The standard documentation was fairly good on basic batch file scommands. Try a charity bookshop or a computer fair.

This is a good link :

http://users.cybercity.dk/~bse26236/batutil/help/INDEX.HTM

Just click on the A, B, C, etc... letter and the appropriate explenation pops up. It also includes good examples of how to use a certain syntax .

I've still got a DOS wheel, with all the commands and parameters that show when you twist the wheel around.
