Hello,

I've made a report in Access and have a queston about displaying the data.

I have for example, data for the past 3 years.
I have a header calle YEAR (my firsth header).
I want to have the report to page break when a year ends (eg 2008 on one page, 2009 on 1.5 pages, 2010 on one page).

Can anyone tell me how to do this?

Thanks

Read up on grouping - you can force a new page with a change in group.

Thanks - Ill see what I can google...

Good luck - it's pretty easy really - in the report's design view, I think there's even a 'force new page' option in the group's properties

Thanks again - Just been experimenting with it and have it the way it will let me (and see what I want). Is there a way to have the form header from the first sheet appear at the top of every page? (like header/footer in Word)?

Yep, page header should give you what you want - right click on the report, select 'page header/footer'. Anything in there will be repeated on every page, whereas 'report header/footer' will only be displayed at the start and end of the report - regardless of number of pages.

Ah I see - report header is once for the report, and page header appears on each page.
I have just one more question for you which I can do on a form but it seems to fail in the repot. I want to format a field in the report (a cut down version of the table). Ive tried variations of Format([Field],"DDMMYY") but its just not liking anything... is there a way? is it different? Thanks again :)

So in the control source of the textbox, you've got
Code:
=format([fieldname],"DDMMYY")
With the = and everything yeah? When you switch out of design mode, what does the textbox say in it? #Name? #Error, and so on....

Yeah Ive tried that and I get #Error instead of what I expect...

OK - so the report is based upon a table that contains the field name you're putting in the expression yeah? Er, how about just making the field the text box's control source as normal, then is there a format option in the properties of the text box?

No worries man, have a good day!
