Access 2007 & Outlook 7 & Windows Live Mail
Hi,
Just starting to try and set up an email booking enquiry system.
I have a wordpress site and use a contact form to send name & dates etc.
Works OK.
Currently I have simply set up a linked table to the outlook folder & in principle works great & easy.
However, I use & much prefer Windows Live Mail and was the default client but to try and get things working now made Outlook 7 default.
Outlook is slow'ish to start & still want to use Live Mail most of the time, although at moment get away with it not being default. I currently have Outlook to open/access ONLY the booking email account to prevent any possible conflicts.
1) Is there no (easy'ish) way that I can link a table from Live Mail. Import also lists Outlook Express as an option so seems very odd no direct link support for live mail.
or as a poorer alternative
2) Is there a way to get Outlook to update/refresh emails without actually starting Outlook. I guess could be started & then closed from access but all seems a little clumsy & slow.
I would be grateful for any good ideas.
If you have any advise on best way to reply to these emails, I am concentraing on input at moment & will research myself but while I'm asking..
Many thanks I/A
