I am attempting to open an .mdb file but when I double click on the file (or try to open from Access) I receive an error (error 3033), 'you do not have the necessary permission to use the 'farms.mdb' object. Have your system administrator or the person who created this object establish the appropriate permissions for you.

Sounds to me that the database is secured and can only be opened using the shortcut created in the security setup process.
Is there a shortcut to open it??

That is what I am trying to find (A short cut). Maybe there is some way for me to find name of the working group so that I can join and thus utilize the database. This database was designed by a person who is no longer with the company and I've been tasked (if I can) to fix some of the bugs.

If you want to mail it to me I will see if I can get into it for you.

Hi, I am encountering the same problem.

I have to open a database from a site because the orig developer of the database is no longer here. But I am encountering Error 3033:

"You do not have the necessary permissions to use the <name> object. Have your system administrator or the person who created this object establish the appropriate permissions for you. (Error 3033)

You do not have the necessary permissions for the specified object. To change your permission assignments, see your system administrator or the object's creator."

How do I go about opening this database? The database can neither open at the site or downloaded to our network server.

Please help!!
