...but there isn't another user! My db is written in 2010 where at least mouse wheel works! Data tables are linked MySql tables, all with unique id#'s and timestamps. This is the fourth year this db has been working. After lots of changes and updates, I decided to create a new db and import everything for a clean version before distributing it. Just clicking around to be sure all was good, went into the member data screen (name, address, etc) clicked the Edit button to unlock the field and deleted a letter in the first member's name, replaced it immediately and tried to exit the screen. Got Error 3197. I can delete the letter, scroll to next record, return to original and replace the letter without error. In other words, if I change the spelling, I can save and close but if I return the spelling to its original state before closing, it errs. I don't get the error in the original db doing the same test--the one I just imported--the forms ought to be identical. Any ideas?

Never mind--it is okay now, not that I totally understand why. When I imported all from the original db, the mysql tables came in with the link through the odbc machine connection. I deleted all tables and imported them again from the oriiginal db. This time they came in with the full mysql odbc qualifier. The strange behavior resulting in Error 3197 disappeared. I don't understand, but I am happy it is now ok!

It's maybe you have a code (update query) on same table on after update event of form or control.
