Error 3197

Today when I try to open my database I get the following message:
The Microsoft Jet database engine stopped the process because you and another user are attempting to change the same data at the same time.
There is no one else using the database. I can not open it. Any help would be appreciated. I do have a back-up, however I will have to recreate over 50 records.

You might do a search with 'error 3197' on this forum and you will found some good pointers.

done it, tried it.

I've searched this and other sites for a soloution. None of the soloutions suggested have worked. I've tried Jetcomp.exe.to no avail. It seems no one has any new ideas to this problem.

Some thoughts :

Verify if there is a *.ldb relevant to your dbase still somewhere. If there is delete it. Try open your dbase again.
If this doesn't work, I would suggest to create a new database and import
all objects ( tbls, qry's, etc) into the new one.
Once the new one has been created , make sure you compact and repair it.

I've done both of those already. There is no .ldb and I get the same error when I try to import into a new database. I'm beginning to think there is nothing to be done.
