error for sort button using ACCESS

I created a button for a form using a built-in macro function for sorting records,
and I am returned with the following error:
THE COMMAND OR ACTION 'SortAScending' ISN'T AVAILABLE NOW.

Is there any work-a-round code to fix?

i think sometimes you cant sort on certain sorts of calculated fields. what are yuo trying to sort on?

The field that I am trying to sort on in the form is just an account number (No calculations are necessary).
I can sort by using the sort feature in the menu bar, but I would prefer the user sort by using a button near the account field in the form.
