NT 4.0 running Access97. Built a system several years ago for our department. Basically just tables and forms. Split db design. back end sat on a server, front end on the desktop. Couple of months ago, started having trouble with the server running out of space, locking up my db. Moved back end to another server with more room. All is well for about a month. Now on several tables that have memo fields, I'm starting to see #ERROR? in the memo field. When you try to edit the field, the "you are trying to edit a record that another user is editing" comes up, even though no one else is in the system. No field names have been changed, no changes made to the forms. Only change was to move the back end to a different server. When it happens, the record has to be deleted and re-entered. Of course, all the comments from the memo field are lost, as well as the tracking history (time-stamp procedure that runs off the memo field). Anyone have any ideas on how to debug this problem? Oh, and the #ERROR? is not just displayed on the form, it is actually in the data field (table).

Meltdown:

Thanks, this looks exactly like what is happening to my file(s). I'll load the sp and see what happens (or doesn't happen). :)
