I downloaded your sample, and did get an error. The form opens fine in Design view, however as soon I switch to form view access closes with errors.

Damn strange, that one!

Question - typically I use Access '97 in work all the time and I have Access XP on my laptop. The database window in XP says that it is 2000 File Format, so I'm wondering if that is just rubbish and it really is an XP database.

I have XP on my laptop so I will give it a try on that and see if opens properly and let you know.
