excel problem

We have eXcell 2000 installed in our systems. We send excel email attachments and the people receiving it may have excel 97 and they are not able to open the excel sheet.
How do i save the excel in 97 format in my system?

Or is there any better way to do this?

Where are you sending the emails from. Are they normal emails where you manually attach your excel spreadsheet? Or are they created by Access and you are attaching an exported table/query?

I put the result of a query in a excel sheet and save the excel file and then send as an attchment file in VBA code.

The question is how to I save the excel in Excel 97 version.
