Export and assign number

I am needing to export data to a txt file and assign a list number to each record. I can do everything except use vb to assign this list number. For example, here is a record:

[Record Name], [field 1], [field 2], [field 3],
Bobs Record, 5 Apples, 4 Oranges, 9 Pairs,
Willies Record, 2 Grapes, 8 Bannanas, 5 Grapefruits,

Here is the output I need:
<param name="List1"value="Bobs Record~5 Apples 4 Oranges 9 Pairs">

<param name="List2"value="Willies Record~2 Grapes 8 Bannanas 5 Grapefruits">


I am going to use a "loop" and "if not .eof..." blah blah to print all the records but I have never had to include a "numbering" system with a function like this. Any Ideas?

Your recordset has an AbsolutePostion property.

For ADO the first records AbsolutePostion = 0
For DAO the first records AbsolutePostion = 1
