Hi everyone,

I have a form with textual fields. The fields are enabled for formatted text (i.e. bold, bullet point, etc.) and I can run a report that pulls the data from this particular form containing formatted text, and it looks great. The problem starts when I try to export this report to Word (*.rtf) - my report loses all text formatting. Does anyone know how can I maintain the formatting on my report after exporting it to Word?

Also, since my report consists of several records (and some records are smaller), I would like the records to appear one after another on the report rather than one on each page. How do I accomplish this?

Thank you for your help.

cast your eye over the super easy word - function (check the samples) with a tweak here and there (and clever use of switches within word) you might be able to get close to what your boss wants (also it has full word fuctionality )

might not help - but worth 1/2 hours time just looking at it ..
there are a couple of pitfalls with this - but these are small beer problems

This is very frustrating and has greately annoyed Access developers since the beginning. I made .rtf reports using COBOL on the mainframe and I was able to create the appropriate formatting codes. It just isn't that hard. Unfortunately, there is nothing we can do but complain. But do direct your complaints to Microsoft since they listen.

As to the records per page, this is controlled in Access by how you format the detail section. Or, alternatively, you can define a "label" type report that divides a page into several smaller sections. This is not very flexible and you will need to be certain that the sections ALWAYS stay within the allotted space.

And finally, invest in a PDF writer or if you are using Office 2007, download the free one.

Pat Hartman,

Thank you for your response.

Are you saying that there is no setting in Access that will allow me to maintain text formatting after exporting the report to Word?

As for the second part of your response - could you please specify what setting in Detail section of my report needs to be changed. I already looked at all those settings but I still cannot make it work. It is highly probable that I'm missing something...

Thanks,

Blank pages

I was able to export the report to PDF file and now I have a quick question. After each page in my PDF report I have one blank page - how do I get rid of the blank page? I played with margins but that did not seem to solve the issue.

Any suggestion would greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
