Field depends on field - field selection controls other field selection choices?

I am trying to build a data base where in the same table I want a fields choice in the combo box to depend on another fields selection.

Though I am not doing this, here is an example
Fields: State, City
Once state is selected then only given cities within that state drop down in the combo box for city.

any help would be appreciated.
