Hi.
I have a report that contains duplicated fields. Also in the group header is a hidden field:
Name:AAA
Control Source: =1

I was told by a list member (Rich) that if I sum the 1s from the group header in the report footer it would give me an accurate count of all distinct records (and not duplicated ones).
He told me to use the following as the control source for the count in the footer:

=AAA RunningSum

and set the Running Sum property to Over Group. This didn't work, it returned a zero instead.
Am I doing something wrong? When I typed the above, it auto-corrected to:
=[AAA].RunningSum

Please help! I'm already past my deadline and the bosses are getting frisky!

If AAA is the name of your text box then the text box in the footers control source should read =[AAA] you set the running sum property on the control's property sheet not with the control source.

This doesn't work either, Rich.
It returns a value of 1.
Any more ideas?

Please mail me at work:
graham.cat@hslltd.co.uk, where I am going now and for the next 8.5 hours.

Cheers,

Yeah, cheers Rich.
I figured it out today at work.
When it didn't work I panicked and forgot that there is actually a help file with Access!
Got there in the end though.

Thanks mate.
