Simple newby question. Is it possible to alter the font in fieldname descriptions and add color to the background?

I have converted my Excel files to Access but would like the FieldNames to have some color reference - my simple guide book doesn't cover subject.

Hello.

Do you just have Access tables created?

You will probably want to create some forms for data entry and you can definately change colors, fonts, etc. on the form.

If you are asking about applying formats in Forms, then yes all this can be accomplished. Do a search on Conditioanl Formating in Access help to better undestand manipulation of Formats based on field attributes.

Thank you,

I am not using forms - my query only concerns the headers [FieldName] in database tables.

Is is feasible to alter FieldName font style, color or background color in this mode?

Thanks again

The option to change the datasheet format is on the Tools/Options menu, however it sounds as though your attempting to use Access in the same manner as a spreadsheet, the two are totally different

Thanks Rich,

I used to use, in fact still use, Lotus Approach, but wanted to expand my horizons.

In Approach I could change the background color of each database table field name in order to give me a visual as to which table I was using at any one time.

Now I am transferring to Access, I wish to use the same color coding in tables - but from what I can gather, the font, font color or background color of the FieldName in Access tables cannot be changed?

Under Tools/Options, the only default color options appear to be under 'Datasheet' and refers to the sheet, [that is data entry] and not the 'FieldNames' themselves.

Many thanks Pat, problem solved.

Obviously I have a lot to learn - I did say I was a newby!

Thanks as well to all those who responded.
