I am working on a database for work. It is a processing plant and once a product is complete it is entered into a table. At the end of each shift the workers will be logging out. What I need to figure out is how to just get a total product processed a 12 hr period. The periods will always be either 6:30 am to 6:30 pm or 6:30 pm to 6:30 am. After it is complete it will be added onto a report.

Perhaps you could describe your table structure and give an example of the result you expect to see.

table structure

I have 8 columns in the table. I have an autonumber, date (which is auto), time, can number (integer), Tag number (integer), handlers (text) and a memo. I was originally going to use the autonumber and store it in an integer when the user signed on and when the user sent all the info to a report, I was going to subtract the original number from the final autonumber. My problem was that i am not sure how to store the autonumber into the integer. i am fairly new at access but have used VB in the past. I tried gintTotal = tblCans!autonumber . I do not know if this is right or not, its not working so my guess is its wrong.
