Is there a way to avoid having someone open an fe/be database and locking it up? I'm not exactly sure what causes this, but sometimes when I try to open the front-end of a database, it won't open and instead just goes straight to the Access program. When I try to open the back-end directly, it tells me the file is in use. Any idea what causes this?

Make sure that they(and you) are not opening the DB in exclusive mode.

We have the copy of the front-end on each individual desktop, so they aren't actually opening the real front-end. Not to mention most of the users use runtime to access it. Is it possible to open it in exclusive mode that way? If so, how?
