im trying to refer to a certain column of data in a combo box as criteria for a filter..cant get it to work ..is this possible? what am i doing wrong..heres what i got so far:

DoCmd.ApplyFilter , "[cbomm].Column(5) = [cost]"

What are you trying to filter, the form based on selection of the combo or the combo?

You appear to be assigning [cost] to the Column property of a combo box.

I belive the "Column" property is read-only.
