Hi,

What I am trying to do is filtering by combo boxes, I went through the cascading boxes stage, finally :-). As a result I can pick a group name from one combo and vendor from a second and list particular products. The problem is that I'm getting only products from particular vendor.

Now I want to set criteria to have a list of products by group and if I want to narrow the search by vendor and vice versa.

A little help would be great.

Cheers

It sounds as though cascading combo boxes is perhaps not what you are after (unless I have mis read your question) It seems as though you want the option of limiting the list of products further by vendor or not whereas cascafing combos will limit by vendor everytime the way you currently have it set up as I am assuming you are basing the second combos products based on the vendor chosen in the first.

I can provide you with a sample search form using 4 combo boxes that I have from a previous database where the use of different searches can be chosen ie contract type based on specific project or supplier based on specific contract type. i think that is more what you are looking for.

Apologies if I have misundersttod you and if you want a sample, let me know which version of access you are using.

I thought I needed cascading boxes but you're absolutely right.

A sample would be really great I'm using Access2002,

Thnx in advance

I only have Access 2000 here at work.

Anyhow the sample is just a search form with various combo boxes that allows different searches to be pulled on contracts.

Thnx for a such fast reply, mate

I'll have to chew this a bit and see how it goes.

The result I want to achieve is a bit different though. I want to have the results listed in third combo or field box so that I can choose particular product from a list and use it in the same form.

Regards
