Filtering by Entry ID in a form

Hi!

I have an autogenerated form for my operations.

I see something like this:

Operation N°:
Client:
[subform products]

The fact is that when I change "Operation N°" i want it to work as a filter instead of being allowed to change the "Operation N°". I tried the option "Search By Filter" and when I enter a value it filters okay, although it doesn't allow me to save any change since it seems that I'm also changing the N° of Operation, not just filtering...

Any idea?

If I understand you correctly you want a combo box selection on the main form to alter what is displayed in a subform.

If this is the case then have a look at the series of videos here based on the "northwind" example database provided by Microsoft.

Thank you Gizmo although note that once he blocks that field, he cannot longer select it so as to filter! That is the problem I'm having. In the video he just actually block it so as the field cannot be modified (this is just one part of what I want).

And also I'm wanting to filter by registry ID which I think it might be easier since I don't want a combobox, just enter the name and load the info in the form of that specific registry ID.
