Hello,

I have an Excel file which has 4 different worksheets on it. The first worksheet (profiles) has a listing of User Names and Group #'s. The other 3 tabs have a listing of all the available group #'s split by their their different categories (small, large, individual).

The task I need to complete is to have the profiles worksheet look at the 3 group worksheets and let me know which category their group number falls under. I've tried a couple different ways:

=IF(ISNUMBER(MATCH(D1,large!$A$1:$A$20979)),"large","not")
(for this I put it in 3 separate columns, one for each category)
This one seems to work, but I am receiving a "large" response even though the group # on the profiles tab does not match a group # on the large tab.

also tried:

=if(countif(D1,large!$A$1:$A$20979)>1,"large","")
no luck with this method either

All of the group numbers are stored as text - because many of them begin with zeros.

Thanks for any assistance in how to locate which group category that each User ID on the profile tab belongs to.

Thanks Trevor! Used the Match function & that will bet me to where I need to go. Thanks alot!

Match type defaults to 1 , I think that you needed a match typeof 0 for your 1st attempt to work
