find record(s) from combo box

i want to build a form for employee details. i would like the form to open, display a combo box(with employee first and surname) and the form goes to that record.

ie i select joe bloggs

fields would show

first name: joe
surname: bloggs
D.O.B.: 01/01/1900
occupation: celebrity

when i change the combo box to another name i would like the form to display the details for that person. ive been racking my brains on this for ages.

The combo box wizard can guide you with that. Choose the 3rd option - "Find a record on my form based on the value I selected in my combo box".

i saw your reply and thought silly me. i must of missed something again. but i only have 2 options, i want the combo box to get values from another table or query, i will type in the values i want.

is there a setting to have the option available that you have said

sorry your right. i have just created a form based on a table. added a combo box to it and the third option is there. thanks
