Find the MIN result in a query

James, your's does work...but for some reason I cringe when there are 3 joins, dunno why
I kind of agree with you and am waiting for somebody to post a better solution but until then...

I had not looked at this as James explanation straight off was the way I would tackle it, have now looked and yep that's what I would do, as to the 3 joins what's wrong with that? It is not only needed but is just like 3 where conditions which I am sure you would not baulk at.

Brian,
Nope, wouldn't baulk at three where conditions...It's just I have never had to use 3 joins, so it just looks...strange to me. I agree that it works. I would use trim on the To and From however...I know how people can mistakenly add spaces.

LB,
Here is a database with a form that contains a combo box and list box. With the combo box you can select the route and the list box will display the lowest rate.

HAMMAMABUARQOUB - Thanks for the suggestion but the unique Ref would stop the grouping.
mmmmm
we should move to a 2 tables state... Main and sub. the main "as I understood" should be the one with the From To fields and the sub shouldbe the one with the uniques reference,, "looks like a product and its shipping transaction refered by order id"
thus.. you ca use the grouping better!

Thank you all for the help your have given... I shall take a look at it all and see how I can incorperate it into the current DB.

Thanks again :)
