I've got loads of records in a student form (single form view) and would like to know how to use the DoCmd.FindRecord method or if their are other ways to find a record of a student by say searching through a surname field. I know you can just use the find button on the toolbar, to do this, but then you have to select the field look in manually, so it looks a bit rubbish.
I DON'T want to use a recordset find method eg FindFirst to do it.

What about making a select combo based on the StudentID field (A2K has a wizard for that). You are not obliged to show the StudentID but have other columns displayed by the combo instead (Student surname and name...).
If you don t have the wizard, re post and I ll give you more details (doesn t use .Find but... .RecordsetClone and .Bookmark...)
