Is it possible to have a fixed format in a report? If Yes, Could You help me by giving the procedures on how to do this or may be code...The report should have 2 columns with the data entry like most of you have probably done by just formatting the column width and height of the report. Now, My report should produce a hard copy with the same format everyday. What if only the first column has the data for this day and the next data should be filled up the next time. I want to display the Textbox in the next column even if there in no data entered to it.. Got It? Any Idea on how to do this; fixed format in a report?

Your help will be much appreciated!!! Thanks in advance!!

I'm not really sure what you mean. If you have two text boxes for two fields and one textbox has data then the other textbox will be visible albeit empty. If you have a border round the textbox then you will be able to see it.

Or do you mean something else? Maybe you could post a sample of what you want to see (maybe in Excel).

Chris

I think I understand what the OP is about. It's a 2 column report so each column is a separate record and he would like those two columns visible at all times even if there's no data for a particular group.

No problemo ;) Let us know how it goes.
OK.. I've looked at your DB.. and this is what I want to happen in my reports.. So how did you do that? Would you give me the codes or directions.

All the code is in the database, behind the report.

On what event? I can't find it

OK. found it. it was on the detail section..

On the Detail section's Print or Format event. I don't remember which one.

I tried to copy the codes and edit some fieldnames, but the format doesn't change.. I have attached the stripped out DB of my Database.. Could you take a look and supply the codes.?if that's OK..I'm having a headache solving this problem.. Thanks in Advance

You've only been trying for a short while. Take your time to understand the parts to change.

:DOK. I'll work with it.. So, is it possible for multiple fields with Boxes?

I mean.. Is it possible for a report having more than 30 textboxes, boxes, and labels.

!!!Too bad... my report seems not to change at all....Whenever I attempt to preview my report I'm having this error:Run-time Error '6': Overflow .What does it mean?I don't know what to do.. Please help me.

OK! Fixed the run time error but still no progress...The report still don't add column..
Here's the code:
Code:
Private Sub Detail_Print(Cancel As Integer, PrintCount As Integer)

    iLines = iLines

    If addBlank = True Then
SetControls False, True, True, vbBlack, False
    Else
        Select Case iLines
            Case 2
SetControls True, True, True, vbBlack, False

            Case Is > 2
SetControls True, False, False, vbWhite, False

            Case Is < 2
SetControls (iLines <> Me.YearLevelNumber), True, True, vbBlack, (iLines = Me.YearLevelNumber)

            Case Else
                ' do nothing
        End Select
    End If

End Sub
See Attachment! I want the report to fill in the blank space in the bottom right side even if their is no record or null..

The code does not handle Null. So you will need to get query to get all the Null records for each group and join (i.e. using UNION) it to your current query.
