Flying aircraft carrier, is this for real?

Not so real for me. I see to many issues.
Landing a jet on a boat is already difficult. I can't imagine how landing on a flying aircraft (at 800miles/h)
The incoming jet has to catch-up, then match that speed to perfection in order to stop. (how to you manage that ? Like you catch the wheel and lock it ?)

Yeah, I spent the majority on my Naval career on carriers. They cant even get the USS Gerald Ford (CVN 78) underway with all the complications she is experiencing. This is a pipe dream at best and will NEVER see the light of day. And that is probably a GOOD thing...

They touch upon the real problem around the 7:00 min mark - maintenance. The juice is simply not worth the squeeze.

Didn’t the avengers (or some marvel group) have an aircraft like that?

Of course, the Marvel S.H.I.E.L.D. carrier could hover so landing wasn't that bad, AND if they used the S.H.I.E.L.D. jets, they could come in like Harriers and do V.T.O.L. stuff so landing was a trivial issue.
