Recently a friend of mine designed a new letter head for me on her computer, and emailed it to me. I saved it om my computer. Typed my letter in and did a mail merge

Using word 365 / win 11

Font size

Base document has all the font size at 14, yet after mail merge the place holder text smaller size

This is what I googled

Merged Text Changes to a Different Font Style or Size During Mail Merge http://support.microsoft.com/kb/212349 When you perform a mail merge, the merged information may appear in a different font. This behavior occurs when the default Normal style is different from the font applied to your mail merge main document. For example, if you choose Courier as the default font for your Normal style but decide to format the main document using Arial, your text prints in Arial, but the merged fields are printed in a Courier font. Details on link above to change the Normal Style on your Word. But I found that was not always the case! Shown below the details of adding the Parents First Name & the font looks fine at this point

Need someone to explain this to me

I followed the KB link (MS Knowledge Base) and it showed you three possible ways to fix it.

1. There is a hack to make each merge-field include an explicit format.

2. You can change the font of your "normal" style because that is what is hitting the merged fields.

3. After the fact, manually re-assert "normal" style on the merged fields.

Their article includes more details than my response.

Thanks I will try it.
Lord willing going by around last week in august

At the moment, I think we will be here if you wanted to drop by, but Linda will be limited in her cooking, so no promises regarding real Cajun cuisine. At the end of May she had a trip & fall accident, badly dislocating her left shoulder. She is getting some physical therapy after which the doctor will re-evaluate. He was on the fence about whether she might need rotator cuff reconstruction (or, worse, replacement.) She can get around, but cooking is limited and I have to help sometimes. I don't think you want to taste my cooking.
