How to incorporate access pivot tables in an access form? Also how to subtotal on changes withinin a field in a form?

in your crosstab query, you must specify the column headers - look at query properties for the top part of the query window

I don't understand your second question

Thanks for your reply. Have used the crosstab and works up to now if you change the properties fields. My other question is how, if possible do you create subtotals on an Access Form of data when the name or no. etc changes, as you can in excel? Cheers.

what do you mean by subtotals?

1. do you mean totals for each column or
2. do you mean subtotals by row or
3. do you mean a subtotal column e.g. M1, M2, M3, Q1, M4, M5, M6, Q2 etc

if 1 you'll need to use vba to change the controlsource for the calculation control on the form

If 2 you'll need two crosstabs, one for the 'detail' rows and one for the subtotals which you'll either need to populate a temporary table or use a union query. You'll also need to include a column, if you haven't already got one so you can sort so it appears in the right order

if 3, you'll need to modify your crosstab to incorporate the different calculations for each type of column

Thanks CJ. I need to replicate the subtotals that you can create on a report. Crosstabs seem to be the easiest answer. Thanks again very useful. Cheers
