Formating Detail Section

Can someone help with formating a report so that every other line is shaded.

Probably just one way among others:
Place in the detail section a textbox control =1 .Set itsvisible property to no, its running sum property to "On Group" (I am translating from French, not sure how it reads in English).

Then, using the On_Format Event of the detail section:

If (Me.txtHiddenRunningSum Mod 2)=0 then
Me.Section(0).BackColor = 255
Else
Me.Section(0).BackColor =16777215
End If

Thanks for your solutin Alexander. Do you now how I can apply this to Forms with multiple child records.
