I have a database for multiple users. This database resides on the network system. However, most of the users are in the field with laptops. I want to copy the database onto all of the laptops (about 15 total) so that the users in the field can input records. However, I dont know how I can retrieve these records to dump into the network system. By the way, these laptops alos have radio frequency capability and eventually I would like to set it up for the data to be transmitted to the network, but that's a future issue. Right now I want to at least have the users be able to dump records into the database to update it. It has to be simple because some of the users are not very computer literate. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanx.

OS?

Marty,

Are the users ever directly connected to the server? If so, are you running on Windows? You might be able to use Windows Briefcase to sync up the databases.

No, briefcase is not an option. The laptops are secured in the vehicles. Running Windows 95 for most part and using Office 97. Looking for way to dump down to a floppy disk, maybe just the tables to import to the database on the network system? Just not sure where to start. Thanx.

You can still use 'Briefcase' to transfer the files...just put the mdb file in the briefcase and then copy it to a floppy...you should be able to zip up the file if it is too big for a floppy.

The advantage of using briefcase is that it will work to sync up the multiple copies of the database.
