:banghead: There have been threads on this before, but our speed problem has only just arisen when installing the database on a new server - nothing else (deliberately) changed. Why has this happened???

It's a complex form - lots of subforms and queries and drop-downs - but speed was never a problem in Access 1997, nor in Access 2007 when I first converted it. Only now, when the server and network are super-fast and up-to-date, does it take up to a minute to open the form and to move between subforms.

Other forms in the same database are fine.

Would later versions of Access solve the problem?

Assuming you have a split system with the backend on the new server, I'd say that maybe your network isn't so superfast as configured. Have you check the network speed with something other than Access?

And a copy of the Front End on each user's PC. Is this how it's configured? Is the new network a LAN, as opposed to a WAN? Access simply hates WANs!

And 'no;' a more current version of Access is unlikely to make a difference.

if you have upgraded to a newer version of SQL as your backend I would check you have the latest ODBC SQL drivers for access installed on the front end machines, I've seen older version run very slowly in similar circumstances.
