formula for how many

hello everyone

I have two sheets:
1st sheet: includes the registered students (with their IDs and regions) from both first and second grade.
2nd sheet: includes list of all excellent students’ IDs who are at first grade.

what do you think what is the formula that can I use to show me how many excellent students registered in each region?

I have tried countifs but it doesn’t give me the answer!!

any suggestions would be apprecated
