Hello Folks,

I have written a VLOOKUP() in a column and all I see is this:
Code:
=vlookup(A2, 'GL Conversion Sheet'!$A$2:$C$566, 2, false)
I cannot get a value in the cell.

I do not have formula auditing mode on, and I can't remember where the option is located in Excel 2003 to View full formulas or values in the cells.

I know where it's at in Excel 2007, but I upgraded to 2003 :) and I can't seem to find where that option is so I can check to see if it is the problem.

Can I have a boost please?

Not intending to be rude but are you sure that there isn't a space before =

Also what happens when you select the cell and click the fx in the formula bar.

There is no space, Mr. Perfect. ;)

When I click the formula bar, I see what the result should be, but upon closing the dialog box, I still see the formula. Here's are the jpegs...

Sorry for the .ZIP file...I have no internet page to source from...

Try Tools/Options/View. The option is there to view formulas in 2000.

How about "Options|View|Window Options|Formulas"? In mine, this is unchecked. When I check it, it shows the formulas instead of the values.

Thanks guys. That box is unchecked in the program. However, I did find the problem (I think). This works:
Code:
=vlookup(a2, 'general ledger'!A:B, 2, false)
This does not:
Code:
=vlookup(a2, 'general ledger'!$A$2:$B$556, 2, false)
Thus, the function will not calculate with this specific array. Could someone tell me why?

That is quite a strange phenomenon..

Brian, nice new title you have there! :)

Wierd, they both work for me using 2002.

I think it has something to do with the datasheet being imported from another program. It is not an MS program, but rather a proprietary one. So, I'm guessing that is the problem here.

And BTW, your new title comes from the olden days of the WWE (formerly known as the WWF). Mr. Perfect was quite the character, but I believe he's dead now. Is that correct?
