Functions for a Searchengine

We, a projectgroup working on a schoolproject designing a searchengine in MS Access, are look for some help with functions.

The searchengine must be able to handle the following functions...

+, -, &, AND, OR, NAND, NOR, "", and all other functions used by a conventional internet searchengine like Altavista.

Are you planning on having it search internal data (data you guys put into the database) or external data (stuff out there on the internet)?

We're going to import data form a excelsheet into a database, it has to search in the MS Access database.
