Not entirely true. After WW II, for a very long time we were the only major industrialized country with any capacity whose factories hadn't been bombed into oblivion. Japan, China, Germany, England, France, Italy, the nations of Eastern Europe... all of them had either been bombed or blitzkrieged but the USA's factories had not. Canada and Mexico, and most of South America weren't affected much but also were not known for their industrial capacity. After the rebirth of Europe and the Orient, industrial growth led to competition among manufacturing nations. Adam, you probably don't quite remember the times when U.S. factories were the envy of the world. But there was such a time. It's gone now. But it once was very different.

oh yeah, I remember some of those times. It was a long time ago when I read a prediction by the census or something. actually by economists. they predicted that by 2050, only 1% of jobs would be in manufacturing. but of course, that had more to do with inevitable economic shifts like the booming service industry and dwindling manufacturing due to automation more than anything.

Speaking of things we need, we now need a LOOOOOT of truckers.

Now at least once a day I come across some enormously hilarious thing that liberals say, the sources of amusement seem bottomless these days. (It used to just be once in a while).

Their latest attack is that Trucking is Racist. Apparently, there are just too many white men in the trucking industry.
(To understand the 'why' behind this kind of insane-sounding stuff, remember, the latest theory from leftwing racialized nutcases is that every industry, job, school, profession has to have the exact same proportion of colors of people as the country does - God forbid there be ANY difference whatsoever in what people choose to do).

Then, in an apparent attempt at Deduction and Reason (ha!), the MSNBC host brilliantly ties it all together for us:

Some people have talked about aggressive truck drivers cutting them off or not being helpful ... So, obviously, the more populated it is with people of color I think you’ll see less of that,

The things I could say in response to that would be so numerous but also cheap so ... I'm not going to stoop to their level.
