no idea where to post this, so it goes here!

I'm about to link our database to myob which i have only tried on the sample myob database. now we have MYOB Account Right (premiere version).

i don't want to be a drain on the myob package (many say it can be) and for us a daily update is more than enough. i am thinking that copying and pasting the myob files to a spot on the server every 24 hours and linking to the copied files instead of the masters to reduce strain on myob users and make the database faster as well.

anyone tried this? if not anyone that linked to myob, performance considerations? i have a small concern copying the myob file my lock it down due to myob security concers? i will be trying it in about a day or 2 when the myob people get themselves organized and get me a user login....

Hi there,

I've only just joined up as a member and dwelling into areas so far that have been of interest to me.

I read with interest on some of the posts made especially in relation to Access and MYOB. I am a MYOB and Access Developer, and use MYOB quite a lot either for evaluaton and training as well as keeping my business accounts.

MYOB is a great product and offers a free ODBC driver with docos on the tables and field definitions it uses. There are MYOB products for all forms of business, regardless of size.

Being the business owner of a software development company in PNG, we've designed, developed and implemented solutions in Access, wrapped around MYOB products.

I look forward to sharing my experience. Thanks.
