getting physical dimensions for images

I am creating a database where the user stores filenames for images.

I also need to store the width and height of the images in pixels.

Is there any way to automatically obtain this information rather than having to browse for the file and look at the files properties?

There are around 58 viewers here, No one knows How to find the dimensions of the photo (Width and Height)? I am really interested to know the solution too, plz some one write the solution and would highly be appreciated...
